*Gratuities for yacht charters are generally discretionary, but they are an important way to show your appreciation for the crew's hard work and dedication during your trip. As a general guideline, the average crewed charter tip to the crew is 20% of the charter trip base price, depending on the level of service provided and your overall satisfaction with the experience. 

Gratuities are typically given at the end of the yacht charter, either on the final day or at the time of disembarkation. This allows you to assess the overall level of service provided by the crew before determining an appropriate gratuity amount. When giving the gratuity, it is customary to provide the skipper with an envelope containing the cash tip (or electronic transfers such as Zelle & Venmo) which can then be distributed among the crew members.
